Who am I?

I’ll let you know when I figure that out. I’m still a work in progress.

This is what I do know at this point, I love many things. I’m a lover of books, art, theater, museums, nature, history and photography. Each brings me joy in its own way.

I love photography because I can take pictures of beautiful views I see while walking around a lake or view images that place me in a distant land. Movies and theater provide us with opportunities to understand different perspectives. I can speak to someone about a play or movie that I absolutely love only to find they hate the same play or movie. That makes me feel good – it means there’s always a different way of looking at things and nothing is as it seems. My lens is unique just as everyone else’s.

So far, I can also say I’m a daughter, wife, mom and friend. I’ve experienced and learned more things being a daughter, wife and mother than I could have ever expected. I learned how deeply one can love and the pain of great loss. We are each on an amazing journey.

I’ve worked for many years doing many things. I started out as a babysitter, cashier, secretary, portfolio clerk, dress factory worker, tutor, resident assistant. Then I moved on to benefits, vendor management and communications.

I’ve taken jobs for security and the comforts I enjoy. Now this blog though, is just something for me to enjoy. I’m doing this for fun. That is not something I normally do. No, I usually do things because they need to be done.

So I’m changing things up. I’m starting a blog, reconnecting with old friends and taking the time to be cognizant and grateful for all the blessings surrounding me. I’m once again finding the smiles and the laughter that once came easily.

Life’s pace can sometimes feel like a speeding train without you taking notice. Not only me, but also my family are beginning to slow down and observe and cherish the small things that are there to take notice of and see.

This blog hopefully will be a place to see the small things that are there to be seen, noticed and cherished.
